Leslie Morgan

Leslie was born in 1954, and after graduating from London University with an honours degree in Pharmacy, became a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

Joining the small retail pharmacy B&S Durbin Ltd in 1976 as a pharmacist, Leslie developed the export side of the business soon after as international sales director. He travelled widely, sourcing medicines and meeting new customers from all over the world. In 1999, Leslie bought the company, becoming Managing Director, and changed its name to Durbin PLC.

As the company continues to grow, Leslie’s philanthropic approach to business is still very much part of the Durbin philosophy. Leslie spends a lot of his time working with pharmaceutical and medical equipment organisations assisting them to donate in-date products to charities worldwide. So far his efforts have achieved over £20million worth of donated stock.

Leslie says “Initially my goal was to find out what problems healthcare professionals were having in getting hold of medicines and supplies and to source whatever they needed as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. The whole operation still revolves around that philosophy and it works. Our customers call with a request and we find what they need and get it to them when they need it."

Having won several awards along the way, including SME of the Year at the Business Excellence Awards and the Coutts Prize for Family Business in London, Leslie continues to take Durbin from strength to strength.
