From 1 April 2006, Milex's non-latex (silicone) diaphragms will be on the Drug Tariff for the first time. Launched in Spring 2005, the products are available exclusively from Durbin Clinic Sales.
These hypo-allergenic diaphragms have already been extremely popular - they do not discolour or pick up odours or secretions over time; they may be autoclaved; they are also more durable than their latex equivalents. Two types are available - Omniflex (coilspring) and Arcing (arcing spring) in sizes 60 to 90mm in 5mm steps. The basic NHS Price (Drug Tariff price) is £8.35. A Fitting Set of the five most popular sizes is also available from £15.33.
